Ignored Orphans and Persepolis

Foster children are discarded and viewed as lesser by the majority of the United States population and government. They are promised a quicker adoption process once their biological parental rights are permanently terminated, “Yet of these children, the average time they have been waiting to be adopted is nearly two years (22.2 months)” (Facts About Foster Care). Similarly, the citizens of Iran in the story of Persepolis were ignored by their government. Once the new regime had taken over Iran, they paid no attention to citizens of their country and enforced new laws to aid themselves. Foster care children are ignored once they are in the Foster Care system. More time and money would be consumed by the government if they actually put forth effort to assist the adoption process and aid the orphans of this country. It should not be the decision of others when orphans get help; it should be supplied for them when it is required.
